Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a full-time (1.0 FTE) Junior and Senior High Physical Education Teacher/Athletic Director at Lamont High.




Lamont High serves approximately 350 students in grades 7 to 12, with 20 teaching staff and 13 support staff. The school is located in Lamont, AB, approximately 60 kilometres northeast of Sherwood Park, AB.

A master's degree in counselling and registered or provisional psychologist status is preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants presently working on a master's in this area. A minimum of five years of teaching experience, education in psychology or a related discipline with a focus on counselling, and Violent Threat Risk Assessment Training (VTRA) would be considered an asset.


Qualifications:




Bachelor of Education degree Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate Effective organization and classroom management skills Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged Excellent verbal and written skills Experience or familiarity analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction Strong collaboration and teamwork skills Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training
