Newstead Academy Child Care (NACC) is a child care center established in the beautiful community of Oak Ridges, with has a capacity of 167 students and 8 classrooms. Our aim is to provide a warm, supportive, and enjoyable working environment for our teachers and supporting staff members. We are currently looking for enthusiastic RECEs who have a passion for helping young children to flourish in all developmental domains and hold the following credentials:

Responsibilities



Provide quality service and care to all the children and families. Design and facilitate emergent program plans that are age-appropriate Respond with sensitivity to the individual needs of children and/or their families, respecting diversities (including but not limited to gender, sexual orientation, intellectual and/or physical capacity, religion, cultural/ethnical background) Read the main communication log book before starting shifts, be aware of any changes, updates, and new information in regards to the centre's operation Read and update the relevant classroom communication log book daily and as needed, documenting all necessary information in regards to the attending children Work as a team member; serve as a role model. Design, arrange and maintain a safe, orderly, appealing, and developmentally-appropriate program space with mindful consideration of the 5 learning domains. Ensure that programming setups are prepared and/or completed prior to the children's arrival. Ensure children are dressed appropriately for indoor and outdoor activities. Conduct daily health checks of children, document signs of illness and report to the Supervisor Other classroom tasks as assigned by management

Qualifications



Registered Early Childhood Educator Qualifications:

Early Childhood Educator Diploma Must be registered and a member in good standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)
Early Childhood Assistant Qualifications

:

High School Diploma Experience working with children in a child care or before and after school program setting an asset
General Qualifications:

Minimum of six months' experience working with children Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with members, staff and volunteers Excellent written communication skills Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting up to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending and stooping, pushing, carrying and pulling Must be able to work outdoors for at least 2 hours daily year-round; may be exposed to heat, humidity or cold Flexibility regarding assigned working hours. Must be available to work at least three afternoons per week from 2:00-6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Successful candidates will be required to provide the following prior to first day of work:



Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification Clear Police Records Check with vulnerable sector screening dated within 6 months of hire date Up-to-date immunizations and TB test
