We are currently seeking a skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated Early Childhood Supervisor who is as committed to providing a safe, healthy and positive environment for children, parents and employees as we are.
What You'll Do - Key Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring compliance with licensing and safety regulations.
- Monitor and respond to all emails and correspondence in a timely and professional manner.
- Address parent concerns and meet with families as needed to maintain positive relationships.
Staff Supervision and Development
- Ensure staff are adhering to centre policies and always maintaining professional conduct.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Address staff concerns and meet with them as needed to resolve conflict or offer assistance.
- Monitor and support staff programming time; proofread and approve learning stories before distribution.
- Participate in staff recruitment and conduct interviews.
- Conduct orientations for new staff and student placements.
Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure monthly fire drills, head checks, and other health and safety procedures are completed and documented.
- Meet with inspectors (e.g., health, fire) and coordinate any required follow-up actions.
- Verify and organize new children's information to ensure compliance with documentation standards.
- Assist with registry duties, including PEI Childcare Registry submissions.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Attend monthly supervisor network meetings and contribute to collaborative initiatives.
- Submit accurate monthly petty cash reports and quarterly staff updates for Early Years programs.
- Review and approve monthly calendars and related communication materials.
- Coordinate annual orders for back-to-school supplies and other materials as required.
- Coordinate weekly grocery orders and pick them up.
Family and Community Engagement
- Conduct tours for prospective families, providing information about the centre's philosophy and services.
- Maintain communication with external professionals working within the centre (e.g., therapists, consultants).
- Address and mediate staff concerns or conflicts with professionalism and discretion.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
Certifications:
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification Level 3.
- Emergency First Aid & CPR.
- Food Safety Handler Certificate.
- WHIMIS
- Class 4 Driver License
- Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check (recent and clear).
Education / Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years experience
- Strong understanding of child development and behavioural techniques
- Additional education or experience in the social sciences field is highly desirable
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $28.86-$30.81 per hour
