Job Description

Taiyo Early Childhood Education Centre is looking for passionate, enthusiastic, and play focused Early Childcare Professional to work as our Educator for our Summer Out of School Care Program from July 2nd to August 29th 2025. Taiyo Early Childhood Education Centre is located approximately 1 hour North East of Calgary. Our focus is learning through play with literacy, numeracy and STEAM based experiences. We are actively seeking an ECE that currently holds a level 1 or higher.

Schedule:

July 2nd - August 29th 2025

Monday- Friday: 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Qualifications:

Must have ECE level 1, 2 or 3

Government recognized CPR and First Aid Certification (or intend to take following hiring)

Criminal Record Check, Child Welfare Check & Vulnerable Sector Check

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Create a safe and comfortable environment for the children based on the knowledge of each child's growth and development patterns. Ensure each child's uniqueness is respected and their individual needs are met.

- Responsible for initiating all Program Planning for children aged 6-10 years through the summer, which includes taking children to parks around the community, library and swimming pool

- Recommend a selection of toys and equipment. Ensure toys are used appropriately and by the age groups they were meant for.

- Supervise group activities and ensure the health, safety, and development of children.

- Direct and discipline children in a consistent manner that maintains the child's self esteem.

- Consult with the Director on any issues with children, staff, or guardians.

- Take part in daily cleaning of the facilities and weekly responsibilities of cleaning toys for out of school care

- Report injuries on the Accident Report Form. Keep guardians informed of any injuries sustained by their child throughout the day.

- Keep the lines of communication open with guardians' regarding a child's daily behavior.

- Ensure a stimulating developmentally appropriate environment.

- Other duties as assigned

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
