Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an age-appropriate emergent curriculum that promotes learning through play and exploration, and supports each child's development.
Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity and creativity.
Communicate effectively with children and colleagues to foster positive relationships.
Assess children's progress and adapt methods to meet the diverse needs of all learners.
Provide leadership in classroom management, ensuring a respectful and supportive atmosphere.
Collaborate with colleagues to support children with varying abilities, including those with disabilities.
Utilize technology for classroom activities and maintain accurate records of student progress.
Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance best practice.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience working with young children in a classroom setting is highly desirable.
Familiarity with special education practices is a plus.
Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities within the classroom environment.
Knowledge of the Alberta FLIGHT curriculum framework is an asset.
