Red Deer's downtown
community.
Dream Start Daycare is hiring for a Full Time AB Certified Early Childhood Educator Level 2 or 3 to join this new child care centre for the Infant Room.
The Dream Start Educator position is a unique opportunity to be part of a child care community that both values and supports your innovative ideas and input. You would be on the forefront of establishing the culture and practices of this new program.
The Educator will fulfill the position of Infant Room Educator (12 months- 18 months)

In general terms, all Educators are responsible for ensuring a child's health, safety, well-being, growth and development through the purposeful implementation of a program that meet a child's development and care needs in a responsive environment. The expectation for the Educator is to provide quality, professional, learning experiences for children and to respond to each child respectfully and thoughtfully, in collaboration with families and other Educators.
Responsibilities:
The Early Childhood Educator fulfills the roles and responsibilities as an active member of the Dream Start Daycare team.
Child Care
On-going implementation all relevant policies and procedures of Dream Start Daycare.
Provide an inclusive program where everyone belongs and knows they are welcome.
Build positive, respectful, supportive relationships with families and team members.
Maintain full compliance with of the AB Early Learning and Child Care Act and Regulation.
Be an active, engaged participate of the Dream Start Daycare team of child care professionals.
Provide input, feedback, ideas to the operations at Dream Start Daycare for the success of the children, families, staff, and centre.
Create a positive and nurturing environment that meets the children's social, emotional, language, spiritual, cognitive, and physical development
With familiarity of Flight and demonstrated knowledge of a Learning Through Play curriculum, create and implement children's program of activities based on your observations of each child's interests, needs and abilities and facilitate their learning as they engage in self-directed play in a nurturing and safe environment
Ensure the children's safety and well-being at all times.
Carry out personal care routines to meet the needs of each child and use these opportunities to be positive experiences for the children.
Effectively communicate with families about their child's day through sharing of relevant information.
Maintain the required staff-child ratios at all times
Ensure a safe, clean environment
Curriculum
Plan, prepare, and implement Dream Start Daycare's chosen curriculum of a Flight-inspired curriculum model within an emergent and learning-through-play process.
Collaborate with other Educators and Directors in the implementation of the curriculum for children's best outcomes, to share resources, and in the provision of materials and provocations.
Professionalism & Professional Development
:
Maintain confidentiality as defined by the center's Confidentiality Agreement.
Remain current on child development information and childcare related issues by participating in professional development or training opportunities and/or by continuing education courses.
Participate in annual performance appraisals and identify areas for professional growth
Participate in on-going professional growth and development opportunities including the centre's professional development days.
Qualifications
Required
Alberta Certification in Early Childhood Education
Criminal Record Clearance with Vulnerable Sector Search completed no longer than 6 months prior to employment
Current First Aid certification
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment
Knowledge of the Early Learning and Child Care legislation
Strong written and verbal communication
Ability to Bring your true positive self with all your unique skills to contribute to a wonderful environment for children and adults.
Recommended:
At minimum, one year's experience as an Educator in a group Early Learning Child Care centre
Demonstrated knowledge of Flight
Knowledge of TimeSavr

: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Wage
: Starting wage- $16.00 to $18.50 per hour depending on qualifications, knowledge, experience + Top Up for the certification level.

Hours of operation are Monday to Friday, 6:30-6:00 with 8 hour shifts plus a one-hour break.
