About Us:

Whycocomagh Lakeview Child Care Society (WLCCS) is a child care centre based in Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia. Our centre runs a full day program for children 18 months to 4 years that runs year-round. We also run an after-school care program for children aged 4 years to 12 years from September to June. Our full day program has a maximum of 18 children in our care. Our afterschool program has a maximum of 15 children in our care.

Whycocomagh Lakeview Child Care Society is hiring for an ECE to join our team. The ECE will be on a term contract. Renewable depending on funding through Jordan's Principle. This position is to allow one-on-one support for diverse needs.

Qualifications:

• Early Childhood Education Certificate, Diploma or Degree
• Valid First Aid/CPR "C" Certificate
• Current Vulnerable Sector Check
• Current Child Abuse Register Check
• Experience working within the Autism Spectrum considered an asset

Job Duties:

• Greet each child with a friendly and welcoming attitude.
• Assist in the planning and implementing of age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with families, co workers and supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, healthy and safe environment.
• Follow Public Health protocols and guidelines for cleaning procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and represent WLCCS in a professional manner.
• Use proper documentation of all incidents and follow policies.
• Follow WLCCS behaviour guidance policy.
• Apply strategies outlined by external service providers.

Salary: Following the Nova Scotia ECE Wage Scale

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.59-$29.64 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
