Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Supervisor to oversee the daily operations. As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality early learning and care services that meet the requirements outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, Ontario Regulation 137/15, Early Childhood Educators Act, 2007, College of Early Childhood Educators' Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice and related regulations, guidelines and best practices.

This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of early childhood education principles, and the ability to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children.

Responsibilities:

Program Management:

Develop and implement a comprehensive early learning program that aligns with the requirements set forth in the Acts, regulations and guidelines stated above. Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for children, promoting their social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure that programming meets the individual needs and interests of each child. Monitor and assess program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to ensure continuous improvement.
Staff Supervision and Development:

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate teaching staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork, professional growth, and ongoing learning. Conduct regular staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of the team. Ensure staff compliance with licensing regulations, policies, and procedures.
Licensing Compliance:

Maintain a thorough understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, and other relevant legislation, regulations, and policies. Ensure the center's compliance with licensing requirements outlined in the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual of Ontario. Prepare for and participate in inspections and reviews conducted by licensing authorities. Develop and maintain accurate documentation and records related to licensing, including attendance records, health and safety procedures, and child records.
Parent and Community Engagement:

Establish and maintain effective communication and partnerships with parents/guardians, encouraging their involvement in their child's learning and development. Provide regular updates to parents/guardians on their child's progress, activities, and any concerns that may arise. Collaborate with community organizations, agencies, and professionals to enhance resources and support for children and families. Represent the center at community events and engage in outreach activities to promote the center's services.
Health, Safety, and Emergency Preparedness:

Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment for children and staff. Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments to identify and address potential hazards. Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans and procedures, including evacuation drills and communication protocols. Ensure staff members are trained in First Aid and CPR, and maintain up-to-date certification.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). A member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators. Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a licensed child care center, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role. Sound knowledge of the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual, the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014, and other relevant legislation and regulations. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in organizational management, including planning, budgeting, and record-keeping. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including parents, staff, licensing authorities, and community organizations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
