Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Childhood Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment, developing and implementing engaging curriculum, and fostering strong relationships with children, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote cognitive, emotional, social, and physical development.
Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where children feel valued and respected.
Foster a love of learning through play-based and child-centered educational approaches.
Observe, assess and document children's development, providing individualized support to meet their unique needs.
Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and development.
Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
Maintain a clean, organized, and well-equipped classroom recognizing the environment as a third teacher.
Adhere to all licensing and accreditation standards, ensuring the health and safety of all children in our care.
Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting
ECA Certification preferred/ Bachelors of Education
Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education. Specifically How Does Learning Happen and ELECT document
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
CPR and First Aid certification
Passionate about working with young children and committed to their well-being and development.
