About you:

You will be responsible for reviewing and evaluating business documents for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established policies, business practices and regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills to identify discrepancies and conduct due diligence.

What will you do:
  • Review various business, incorporation and legal documents, including but not limited to agreements, business plans, financial statements, modeling and projections, shareholders agreements, marketing materials, HR paperwork, regulatory filings, and MOUs, for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure all documents comply with SOPs and Canadian regulations.
  • Conduct data analysis and interpretation to support decision-making processes.
  • Identify and escalate any discrepancies or errors in the documents.
  • Draft, mark up, rewrite partially or entirely, and provide constructive feedback, edits, and corrections.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop solutions to enhance business performance.
  • Maintain an organized system for tracking and documenting the review process.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve any issues or inconsistencies.
  • Stay up-to-date with current laws and industry standards related to Canadian Corporate Law, establishing Startups and Business setups.
What you bring to the role:
  • Masters in Business Administration, Law or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) - this is critical.
  • At least 3 years of Canadian work experience is required.
  • Experience in the legal field is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Practical ability to interact with others and deal with situations in ways that respect diverse backgrounds, experiences and styles.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with document management systems and tools.
  • Experience in business document review, legal document review, or similar roles.
  • Experience/knowledge of venture capital, private equity or related fields is considered an asset.
