The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced

Drain Technician

who brings with them, "some mad drain skills" to add to our core team. You're a

reliable problem solver

with

solid drain experience

- cleaning and clearing everything from sewer backups to the kitchen sink. As the face of the company, no matter the job, you'll exude a

Drain Technician



Responsibilities

Safely and effectively operate a variety augering machinery, equipment and tools to solve drain related issues in residential, multi-unit dwelling and commercial buildings and facilities Perform a variety of tasks such as vertical stack cleaning, parkade drain line replacements, sump pit cleaning, etc. Independently assess, troubleshoot and effectively resolve and test complex and challenging drainage issues Safely and responsibly operate a company vehicle - with and without pulling a trailer, promptly reporting safety or maintenance issues Reliably report for work promptly and perform duties quickly and efficiently to meet scheduled job parameters Be willing to work regular on-call rotation for after-hours, weekend or holiday service (minimum 1 week/month) Exhibit courteous professionalism in all interpersonal interactions Consistently demonstrate careful, and clean and tidy work practices, including keeping a clean and organized work vehicle Rigorously adhering to all company and customer safety protocols Supervise drain tech helpers and labourer as may be required Responsibly maintain and manage approved inventory of core "truck-stock" parts and materials onboard company vehicle Become proficient in use of field management software to find and understand job / customer requirements; to follow directions provided; and to manage work schedule, track time, capture job notes and to record expenses Capture clear and concise job notes using proscribed format Consistently record detailed list of parts and materials used for all work performed Comply with all internal policies and procedures
Skills & Experience

Thorough knowledge and understanding of drainage systems, plumbing fixtures and components and venting systems across all building types (residential, commercial facilities, multi-unit dwellings) Highly skilled at effectively clear difficult drain blockages Ability to quickly assess and troubleshoot drain and leak related issues Demonstrated resourcefulness and proficiency in safe and responsible operation of a range of drain line machinery and equipment Excellent on the job performance and safety record Commitment to safety, quality workmanship and maintaining clean work environment Strong customer service and communication skills, able to go above and beyond. Experience interacting with digital technology to reference job calendar and work order information, to track time and capture job notes, images and expenses Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Previous experience in facilities maintenance is considered an asset Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical fundamentals is considered an asset Ability to comfortably back a trailer into a parking stall is considered an asset
Requirements

Minimum of 3 to 5 years drain cleaning experience Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License for at least 10 years Clean drivers abstract Excellent written and verbal command of the English language Satisfactory Police Information Check Ability to lift 50 + lbs Ability to work in awkward positions Certifications such as First Aid certification, will be considered an asset
Work Site Environment

Driving to jobsites Operating high tension drain auguring equipment/cables Operating high pressure and temperature steam/water jetting equipment Running electrical hand tools/equipment Exposure to methane gas (sewer) Use of chemicals (drain treatments, solvents and adhesives) Physically demanding Working in awkward positions Working at height Outdoors Hot / Cold Wet / damp Noisy Dusty

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
