Job Description

Pronautic is seeking a skilled Draftsperson / CAD Technician to join our drafting department. This role requires fluency in various CAD software, with a primary focus on SolidWorks. This role will be primarily responsible for preparing complete millwork projects for production.

Key Responsibilities:

Turn client and designer supplied drawings into 3D CAD models and shop drawings. Prepare cabinetry projects for production, including nesting parts and ensuring seamless coordination with the production team. Facilitate an effective handoff of projects to production through clear communication and documentation. Collaborate with the Project and Operations Manager and Production Manager to ensure project accuracy and timeliness. Develop and maintain the cabinetry library, enhancing its functionality and usability. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement efficiencies in drafting and production workflows. Ensure that all work meets Pronautic's standards for quality and client satisfaction. Follow directions well, be willing to learn, and work well with others.

Qualifications/Skills:

Engineering Technologist Diploma an asset. Proficiency in SolidWorks; experience with additional CAD platforms is an asset (e.g. Mozaik, Rhino, SigmaNest, SketchUp). Strong technical drafting skills with a keen eye for detail. Familiarity with cabinetry production processes, including nesting parts and creating production-ready documentation. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Company Description

Pronautic is a top-end custom cabinetry and millwork company based in North Saanich, BC.

We specialize in high-end residential millwork, but we don't stop there. We complete projects across a wide range of sectors, including the marine industry (yacht and commercial ship interiors), camper interiors, and commercial offices and restaurants. We also supply RTE cabinetry and contract finishing services to our partners throughout greater Victoria.

With over 20 years in the industry, Pronautic supplies custom fit cabinetry and millwork solutions to our clients from our 16000 square foot production facility near the Victoria International airport. Our shop is outfitted with an array of specialized tools for the joinery trade, including a Biesse Rover-G CNC machine, an SCM edge bander, panel saws, jointers, planers, and vented spray booths to achieve a pristine finish.

Our drafting department uses Solidworks to create 3D CAD models of all our projects, which allows us to provide extremely detailed drawings to our contractors, designers, clients, and production team.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
