About the Role



As a Drafting Technician at A&S Homes, you will play a critical role in transforming conceptual designs into precise technical drawings that drive residential construction projects forward. Your attention to detail and ability to adapt to evolving project requirements will be key to ensuring the success of each build. From permit submissions to on-site revisions, your work will directly impact the execution and quality of our homes. This is a full-time, on-site position where your drafting expertise meets hands-on innovation.

Key Responsibilities



Prepare architectural designs and drawings

Develop and prepare design sketches

Prepare material estimates

Complete documentation packages and drawing sets

Examine drawings and conformity errors

Consult with clients, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements

Work with the sales team, design engineer, and construction team to prepare preliminary drawings for estimating and presentation purposes (this may involve modifying existing drawings or creating new ones)

Preparing documents for permit applications and applying for permits

Produce final construction drawings based on input from the design engineer, drawing office manager, and construction manager

Review and approve documents throughout the build cycle

Develop drawings including general arrangements and setup of site plans

Work with construction team to resolve issues that arise on site

Revise drawings as required during the design and construction phase of the project

Follow A&S drawing standards and protocols when preparing drawings

Qualifications:



Proficient in AutoCAD and has an aptitude for visualizing in 3D Knowledge of building applications, construction and relevant building codes is an asset Proficient in Revit is an asset Computer skills such as a knowledge of Excel, and Word
