The

Drafter

will be involved with the development and preparation of architectural designs and drawings, plans, diagrams, or layouts from sketches, and ensuring that design drawings conform to specifications and design data. Consider applying for this incredible opportunity!

The successful candidate will have duties such as but not limited to:



Designing and preparing plans using computer-aided design and drafting software Adding structural details to architectural plans from their knowledge of building techniques Checking and verifying designs to ensure that the drawings conform to design specifications and requirements. Preparing construction specifications, costs, and material estimates Other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:



7-10 years of architectural drafting experience Working knowledge of National Building Code (Part 3 and Part 9) Working knowledge of the qualities of metals, plastics, wood, and other materials; of manufacturing processes; and, of construction methods and standards Ability to communicate and work with engineers, architects, tradespersons, and clients. Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook Experience working with AutoCAD and SoftPlan. Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly growing business environment and adapt to changing task priorities. Ability to meet tight deadlines daily. Ability to manage multiple tasks and perform well under pressure. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Building materials/construction industry experience an asset.
