Innovative Access is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic team member to join our high-rise equipment design team in the Ottawa \xe2\x80\x93 Gatineau region. The designer/drafter will collaborate with our engineering team in preparing 2D plans and 3D equipment models in our mission to re-define Ottawa-Gatineau\xe2\x80\x99s skyline. Our team specializes in the design, fabrication and testing of high-rise access equipment for window cleaning and building maintenance. You will be an important part of the team from the beginning of a project developing the schematic concept, all the way through fabrication and construction of our high-rise maintenance equipment. Your Role: You will be responsible for providing carefully crafted 2D equipment layout plans for high rise buildings, model our window cleaning equipment in 3D software (Sketchup, or similar), collaborate with the client, our in-house engineering team, our fabricators, suppliers and installation team.

• Prepare functional equipment plans, equipment details, 3D models and diagrams, for maintenance personnel to repel on high-rise buildings.
• Prepare structural plans for new structures in steel, aluminum, concrete, etc.,
• Review installed equipment on site, perform load testing of equipment and write reports.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, suppliers etc. to ensure projects are delivered on schedule and on budget.
• Opportunity to develop new access equipment concepts and work with the engineering team make complete the design.
• Develop internal CAD and SketchUp standards and training manuals for new staff.
• Opportunity to go on site, test our equipment, and perform inspections.

Qualifications:

• Experience as a Drafter/Designer in both 2D and 3D.
• Have received formal training in drafting and design.
• Must be autonomous in design/drafting, able to turn specifications and hand sketches into fully functional plans and equipment models.
• College diploma in drafting/design.
• Full proficiency in the use of AutoCad 2D and Sketchup 3D (or similar).
• Attention to detail, self-check, quality control of his/her own work and the work of more junior team members.
• Manage deliverables, work in a timely fashion and collaborative environment.
• Have a passion for design/drafting and re-defining Ottawa-Gatineau\xe2\x80\x99s skyline.
