Your Opportunity:Are you a Radiation Therapist looking for a unique opportunity to grow a specialized career in dosimetry and facilitate life changing cancer care in southern Alberta? Alberta Health Services is currently searching for a Dosimetrist I (DSI) to join our team at the Jack Ady Cancer Centre, located within the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. Reporting to the Radiation Therapy Manager, the DSI will join a dedicated planning team that includes mentorship from a Dosimetrist II and other Oncology experts responsible for the pre-treatment aspects of a patient\'s radiation therapy treatment journey. You will focus alongside a dynamic, collaborative team in the simulator suite that includes rotating Radiation Therapists supporting the optimization and design of treatments available at the centre. The DSI will specialize between the simulation and planning areas to maintain workflow in the pre-treatment department. Importantly, the successful DSI will have or be interested in pursuing a certification in dosimetry (CAMRT, CMD) as they ensure the highest standards of quality and safety in the delivery of treatments, immobilization and patient education. This unique opportunity will provide diverse treatment challenges and opportunities to enhance planning techniques across an array of tumor groups that span gastrointestinal, genitourinary, breast, lung and palliative patients. Required Qualifications:Bachelor\'s degree of Science in Radiation Therapy or completion of Medical Radiation Therapy diploma and Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification, or equivalent. Six (6) months of experience in a radiation therapy department. Additional Required Qualifications:Completion of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy in Canada or accredited non-Canadian program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be able to perform all physical duties of the job including lifting and moving directly related to patient care. Preferred Qualifications:Six months of experience in treatment planning and design that includes both simulation and dosimetry.
