This position provides the option to work from home on Mondays each week, with the requirement to report to the primary NOVA Chemicals work location on Tuesdays through Thursdays. Employees can opt out of the hybrid schedule and will be expected to work Monday-Thursday from the primary work location.

We are currently seeking a Document Control Administrator to join our Project Management Team at our Joffre Site in Central Alberta, near Red Deer. Reporting to the Project Management Team Leader, you will be accountable for the management of document control tasks for multiple sustaining capital and expense projects throughout the project lifecycle, including front end loading, detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
Complete document approval in SPF (Smart Plant Foundation) at the IFC & AS Built project stages
Complete Tag Audits within SPF
Complete project reconciliation and closeout within SPF
Manage inquiries with Designers, Engineering Disciplines and Project Managers and provide training as required in adherence with NOVA Chemicals Document Control standards.
Create and maintain projects within SPF and SharePoint
Manage reconciliation spreadsheets in MS Excel
Work with internal and external parties to manage and complete BlueBeam vendor document sessions and transmit vendor document packages
Provide direction to end users to adhere to Engineering standards
Complete complex investigations within SPF and Iron Mountain systems
Compile and categorize redline drawings
Liaison with External Engineering Providers to complete ASB cycle
Receive, track and manage all construction and commissioning redlines
Coordinate the As-Building effort from a Document Control perspective at the end of the Project (ensuring internal or external resource receives all redlines, etc.)
Perform audits (in conjunction with Engineering Information Management, as required) to ensure NOVA Chemicals standards and procedures are being adhered to throughout the Project Life Cycle
Work with all project resources to ensure a thorough understanding of NOVA Chemicals Document Control standards and procedures
Work with Project Manager(s), and other key individuals to devise, implement and officially document any Document Control Variances required by the Project
What We Are Looking For:
Minimum Grade 12 education with 7 plus years combination of applicable post-secondary education and related document control experience
Expert computer skills are required
Knowledge of engineering standards, database systems (i.e., Smart Plant Foundation) and document control processes
Knowledge of project documentation and engineering terminology
Experience in various electronic drawing file formats
Proven ability to lead and provide leadership to accomplish results
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external interfaces
Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal/team development skills
Ability to adapt and contribute within a dynamic and changing environment, and work supportively within the team
Self-starter with the ability to perform independently and make sound decisions within the framework of the position
Ability to prioritize and function within a changing and fast-paced environment
