Position Title: Access Control/Scheduler

Location: Canadian Forces Base (Esquimalt Dockyard)

Position Status: Union

Reports to: Site Supervisor

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 07:00-15:00

Wage: $20.65/hr (includes 2.5% RRSP cash)

Closing Date: 30 January, 2023

Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to queries related to access to Dockyard, Naden, Bay St Armoury, Colwood, 443 MHS and members of the public.
  • Make decisions based on knowledge of access control regulations.
  • Communicate problems or concerns to the site supervisor.
  • Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to operate as a leader with very little supervision.
  • Have knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Perform all duties with high safety standards.
  • Previous experience with scheduling
  • Excellent with computers and technology
Required Education, Qualifications and Experience
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident and have lived in Canada for at least 5 years.
  • Must be minimum 19 years of age.
  • Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk patrols.
  • Must be able to work in a range of weather conditions throughout shift.
  • Must be fluent in the English language - written, verbal and reading skills.
  • Must have a positive attitude with a professional demeanour, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail to fulfill duties and responsibilities and incident report writing.
  • Have excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to handle emergency situations in a calm manner.
  • Have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in varying situations.
  • Have a demonstrated interest and experience in serving the public
  • Knowledge of all access control regulations for Dockyard, Naden and Work Point.
  • Knowledge of regulations of Contractor access.
