DISTRICT SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST

The Board of Education of School District No. 50 (Haida Gwaii) is seeking a TEMPORARY part- time (0.5 FTE) School Psychologist effective September 1, 2025 until June 30, 2026.


Requirements:


A Master's Degree in School Psychology, Educational Psychology or equivalent; BC College of Teachers certification; Membership in the BC College of Psychologists; Training and recent experience in providing psych-educational assessments for K-12 students (Level C as per Ministry guidelines); Knowledge and skills in the identification procedures and program planning for students with diverse learning needs including autism, behavioural and developmental exceptionalities, learning disabilities, etc.; Understanding and being committed to the calls to action of the Truth and Reconciliation commission, including the eradication of existing and persistent equity gaps for specific groups of children; Working knowledge of and experience in Indigenous education; Proven experience in the development of positive, collaborative and consultative working relationships with students, parents, colleagues and school support staff; The ability to write clear and effective reports; The ability to assist school based Special Education and Learning Resource teachers; Be a strong advocate for students with diverse learning needs; The ability to use technology effectively and efficiently; Valid BC Driver's License.
Competitive Salary: $34,265 - $56,661 per annum
Remote and Rural Allowance: $1,518 per annum


Travel Allowance: $568 per annum
