JOB DESCRIPTION



Position Title:

District Sales Manager

Department:

Street Sales

Position Reports to:

VP of Street Sales



Position Summary:



The District Sales Manager is a seasoned sales and people leader, with proven success within the foodservice distribution industry. In this position, the DSM will bring a results-orientated drive to manage and guide a team of sales professionals within a designated region within Ontario to achieve revenue goals for the district.



Key Responsibilities:



Manage sales team members on a daily basis and provide guidance as needed Manage sales quotas, gross margin and overall performance of Territory Managers to meet profitability goals Maintain clear and complete sales reports for management review Identify areas of improvement and provide training to sales team including sales strategy implementation and best-selling practices Provide support to team to implement new sales techniques to obtain profits Participate and engage in HR activities including recruitment, retention, and promotion activities Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide feedback for improvements Contact potential customers and identify new business opportunities Keep a pulse on customer needs, market trends, and competitors Build strong relationships with customers for continuous business growth Analyze sales performance and recommend improvements Ensure sales team follow company policies and procedures, and support Flanagan's vision, mission, and values at all times Develop promotional programs to increase sales and revenue Plan and coordinate sales activities for assigned projects Provide a high level of customer service focused on customer satisfaction Develop and maintain relationships with key customers within each sales district

Required Qualifications:



Minimum 5 years food service experience as a chef, sales manager, or related sales role required Post-secondary education in sales or marketing preferred Strong understanding of relationship between sales and margins required Previous broad line food service sales experience and understanding of industry required Excellent verbal and written communication, and presentation skills required Strong ability to develop and maintain positive relationships Ability to analyze and communicate data to grow sales and overcome obstacles in the sales process Demonstrated negotiation and problem solving skills Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects Class G driver's license and ability to travel required

Unique Requirements:



Frequent travel and use of personal vehicle 75-80% of the time.
