Job Description


This position handles the daytime weekday portion of a 24-hour dispatch service as well as various administrative duties for our growing company. Duties include taking calls, answering radios, maintaining databases, assist in developing procedures, and a wide variety of other interesting duties. This position is a 40-hour work week of four 10-hour days Tuesday -Friday. Our office is in Ibex Valley north of Whitehorse, candidates must have their own transportation and be willing to drive year-round. Scope of employment Full-time, permanent position
Anticipated start date: July 2023. To be discussed with potential candidates Duties and Responsibilities NOC 14404 Dispatch - Receive requests for emergency assistance and dispatch fire departments and additional support as needed
- Process, record and transmit information to coordinate crews on scene - Operate a variety of radios, satellite, computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
- Monitor personnel for various agencies, keeping track of itineraries and locations
- Monitor all modes of communication throughout the shift, including radios, telephones, emails
- Maintain logs and records of calls, equipment status and other information
- Collect data, generate and send reports Administrative support - Maintain contact lists and other work documents
- Handle client requests for reports and minor document updates
- Assist dispatch manager in:
- Scheduling
- Keeping track of full-time and casual dispatchers\xe2\x80\x99 hours
- Preparing payroll related filings and supporting documentation
- Assembling performance data, prepare and deliver regular reports
- Handling clients requests for orders or services
- Processing invoices and receipts
- Reviewing policies and procedures
- Developing work templates and online platforms Employment requirements - Completion of secondary school is required.
- Formal and informal on-the-job training.
- Strong oral and written communications skills required
- Must Speak English fluently - Advanced computer skills required
- Experience interpreting maps in a variety of formats
- Administrative support experience required
- Dispatching experience considered an asset
- Emergency response or emergency management experience considered an asset The ideal candidate is resourceful and motivated with administrative support experience, and an excellent communicator who has the ability to work with minimal supervision. Benefits - Wage: $28.5/hour
