We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Dishwasher and Facility Steward (Cleaner) to join our team. This is a vital role that ensures our kitchen, warehouse, and facility stays clean, organized, and fully ready for our culinary, office, and event teams each day. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment and is comfortable working independently after the main team has finished for the day.
Duties
Support a culture of cleanliness, timeliness, and pride in the workplace.
Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and workstations.
Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and ready for the next day's production.
Take out trash and recycling, restock cleaning supplies, and report any maintenance issues.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
Follow health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation practices.
Maintain cleanliness and order throughout the entire facility, including;
o Tasting/Meeting room
o Office areas
o Warehouse
o Bathrooms
Skills / Qualifications
Strong cleaning skills with attention to detail to ensure all items are thoroughly sanitized.
Previous restaurant or kitchen experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
Knowledge of food preparation techniques is a plus, enhancing overall kitchen efficiency.
Familiarity with food service operations and food handling guidelines is beneficial.
Experience in hospitality or hotel settings can be advantageous for understanding customer service expectations.
Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude in a busy environment.
Strong teamwork skills to effectively collaborate with other kitchen staff members and also able to work independently and close up the kitchen after the main team has finished for the day.
Extra consideration given to candidates already possessing their Food Safe Certificate and a clean driving record.
Schedule / Compensation
Tuesday through Saturday (majority of weeks)
Start time between 11/12 noon; end time between 7/8PM.
Health allowance available for team members after introductory period.
There is the possibility for this contract to be extended for the right candidate.
Compensation based on experience.
