Discover how you can make a difference in the lives of individuals, families and communities around the world.:This position is accountable for overall planning, operations and control of all Facilities Services activities managed by the Corporate Real Estate department (xe2x80x9cCRExe2x80x9d).As an accomplished and visionary Director of Workplace Solutions, the incumbent will lead our corporate real estate facilities team at a strategic level. This role will encompass oversight of operations, facilities management, move management, and resiliency strategies, ensuring the support of an innovative, efficient, and sustainable workplace environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in corporate real estate and a proven ability to drive organizational change and enhance workplace experiences across all levels and will be expected to work closely with the CRE Leadership Team and key Business Partners, as well as Landlords and external Sun Life Service Providers. This position oversees all Facilities Services for the North American portfolio (including Canada, US, Bermuda and Ireland).What will you do:Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive workplace solutions strategy aligned with the organizationxe2x80x99s business objectives.
  • Provide visionary leadership in the design and implementation of innovative workplace solutions that promote collaboration, productivity, and employee well-being.
Operations Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of workplace operations, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess operational performance and develop strategic initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and identifying opportunities for savings.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and excellence within the operations team.
Facilities Management:
  • Lead the strategic management of physical facilities across North America, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and manage facility maintenance schedules, capital projects, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversight of contract negotiations and manage relationships with service providers and vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for landlords and property managers, maintaining positive and productive relationships. Address and resolve any tenant-related issues promptly and effectively.
Move Management:
  • Provide space consulting for internal partners providing solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Direct the planning and execution of workplace moves and relocations, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transitions during relocations or reconfigurations.
  • Establish and maintain best practices for move management processes across the organization.
Resiliency Planning:
  • Develop and lead the CREs Emergency Response and Business Continuity program in the face of potential disruptions.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and collaborate with stakeholders to identify risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices to continually enhance the organizationxe2x80x99s resiliency framework.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  • Serve as a key liaison for internal stakeholders, fostering strong relationships across the organization to ensure alignment on workplace solutions.
  • Lead regular communication and feedback initiatives to gauge employee satisfaction and inform improvements in workplace strategy.
  • Present insights and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders regarding workplace trends and innovations.
Sustainability and Innovation:
  • Champion sustainability initiatives within facilities management and workplace operations to reduce environmental impact and enhance corporate responsibility.
  • Drive innovation in workplace design and technology, exploring new solutions to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Lead initiatives that promote a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace culture.
What do you need to succeed:
  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in Real Estate, Facilities Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate real estate, facilities management, or related fields, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to drive organizational change.
The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
