We are looking for a •Director, Technical Solutions- Health and Dental Claims. •

Role Overview



This is an exciting and challenging role accountable for the vision and execution of the application portfolio. You will provide customer first advisory, solutions and technical leadership to Canada Life's Workplace Solutions, Health and Dental Claims business. Reporting to the AVP of Technology Delivery with responsibilities for 8+ direct reports, 4+ teams and 40+ staff and contractors, success is measured by the team's collective ability to generate positive results for Canada Life's business and clients.

What you will do:



The role mandate is to build partnerships with stakeholders in the business and technology functions to evolve (imagine new solutions), optimize (increase the impact of existing applications) and stabilize (resolve issues or escalated problems).

•Customer Relationship Management: Nurture relationships and collaboration •

• Act as a trusted advisor to the business areas by proactively building relationships to understand the business' current state, short and longer-term priorities
• Partner with preferred vendors to understand product roadmaps, recommend new solutions and ideas to drive both customer and business outcomes
• Ensure leaders and team members cut through siloes to work together towards common goals

• Lead a team to meet and exceed goals around delivery, adoption and support of technology services while ensuring execution excellence and team engagement

• Responsible for leading all aspects of development, support, maintenance and health of the application portfolios
• Partner with business leaders and architects to define the application delivery strategies and options to meet client and business objectives
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize demand on the application portfolios
• Guide and lead application leadership teams and internal and external delivery partners to deliver work packages across on premise and cloud products
• Ensure the application portfolio's availability and resources are aligned with current and future support needs through the development of roadmaps and use of metrics
• Ensure applications are monitored for health and security concerns to evolve the application portfolio roadmaps

What you will bring:



• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop your teams and drive high employee engagement
• Ability to generate urgency, remove ambiguity and pivot quickly when needed - you will promote a culture of "get stuff done"
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare communications and interact effectively with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels within the organization
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in business or computer science or equivalent experience
• A minimum of 7+ years' related experience supporting technology platforms and delivering projects/products to enable businesses capabilities



The base salary for this position is between $92000 - $170000 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
