The role
CBC's Finance team is seeking a Finance transformational leader to support English Services during a project which will redesign accounting processes and systems. Reporting to the Executive Director, Finance, this position is integral to the Senior Finance Management team. This role will be directly involved in supporting the Entertainment, Factual, & Sports ("EFS"), News and the Digital Product finance leaders as needs arise resulting of the implementation of a new ERP accounting system and a new Broadcast Management System. The role will involve FP&A, internal and external financial reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis and providing finance support & amp; partnering with the business to foster accountability and transparency of financial results.
Please note, this is a contractual role until June 30, 2026.

Principal Responsibilities:Provide financial expertise through gaining an understanding of CBC's business, processes and systems to effectively support the management of the EFS, News and Digital Product operating budgets & forecasted results as well as managing operational deliverables with key stakeholders. Support various monthly internal reporting processes to deliver timely, accurate financial information which may include preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and critical analysis of financial data. Support the consolidation of financial reporting, including the development of various planning scenarios and modelling as required, respecting priorities and funding to ensure alignment with company strategies and financial objectives. Analyze and interpret variances and trends for areas of responsibility, including presenting to all levels of stakeholders. Business partner who will work closely with senior management to make recommendations and help inform decisions as it relates to the strategic business objectives. Takes a leadership role in complex projects of a highly confidential, sensitive and specialized nature for senior management. Implement process improvements and internal controls across areas of responsibility.

Qualifications
Your profileProfessional accounting designation - CPA. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance. Experience in managing and motivating staff. Ability and skills to make recommendations and provide analytical insight and interpretation of complex financial data to senior management in a clear and concise manner. Superior Excel skills and experience working with SAP and Workday are an asset. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and interact with employees, operational managers and various levels of management of several departments. Possessing a highly developed sense of client service, enabling the ability to listen to clients and correctly interpret each department's particular needs. The ability to deal with several, sometimes conflicting priorities under pressure in order to meet deadlines and meet multiple urgent demands within tight timeframes. Strong attention to detail as well as excellent communications skills, written and oral, is required. Previous media/broadcast industry experience is an asset.
