The Canadian Public Accountability Board oversees public accounting firms that audit reporting issuers. You are excited about researching new and emerging areas that impact the audit today and into the future. You are collaborative and you enjoy developing approaches to tackling ambiguous areas, including complex issues or projects that may evolve in scope. You like to be part of a team. You enjoy working with others and freely share your ideas, expertise, and suggestions to help us all succeed together. You welcome, as well as provide, constructive feedback as you develop reports or opinion pieces. You've spent a good part of your career as someone able to deliver outcomes in established timelines. You have a track record of completing high quality projects and/or reports based on your ability to conduct through research, consult with the right stakeholders and focus on the important details that are relevant to the situation.

Who are you?



You have a university degree, a professional designation, eight or more years of relevant work experience. You understand the complexity of the regulatory environment, and the role of a regulator in protecting the public interest. You are an excellent writer and have strong verbal communication skills. You enjoy the challenge of communicating complex topics in an understandable manner. You are fascinated by emerging issues affecting audits, governance and capital markets. You embrace innovation and contribute to shaping CPAB's response to emerging technologies and evolving market dynamics. You've been successful at communicating complex issues, publishing professional reports, managing stakeholders and fostering positive relationships. Time management and meeting deadlines are never an issue for you. You're able to manage projects effectively and balance competing demands while maintaining your professionalism. You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity and working across the organization to achieve your objectives. You understand the importance of living corporate core values in your daily interactions with colleagues and other stakeholders. You are collaborative, enjoying working with colleagues and comfortable asking for help when things get busy. You thrive in and like to contribute to an intellectually stimulating environment. You're comfortable with change and are happy to share your ideas and thoughts on ways to improve.

What you will be doing:

As a valued member of the team, you will:



Understand, research, and prepare reports, opinion pieces and/or projects relating to critical audit quality issues and topics. Project manage key deliverables ensuring deadlines are met while maintaining the highest levels of quality. Work collaboratively with other teams to complete the production, publication, and promotion of the content. Cultivate a network of internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts. Research ad-hoc topics and/or issues and summarize your findings for the applicable audience. Prepare high quality written reports and engaging public presentations. Foster relationships with professional accounting bodies and a range of other stakeholders locally and nationally.
