About the Role

The Director, SFU\'s Partnerships Hub (SPH) leads operational, administrative and strategic activities to support the delivery of core SPH services, including oversight of the human, physical and financial resources required to execute on key partnership initiatives and the development of actionable partnership targets to ensure the achievement of goals and objectives. The Director develops strategies and initiatives that support new partnerships, revenue generating opportunities, and that raise the reputation of the university. The Director provides internal university-wide strategic leadership, advice, and support in the development, integration, and promotion of external partnerships, initiatives, and projects and works with external clients, vendors and partners on the development of contracts to secure the provision of services.

Qualifications

Master\'s degree in Business Administration, Policy or a relevant discipline and five years of related experience, including experience in strategic account management and building and delivering on partner-driven initiatives in a diverse corporate environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of partnership strategies, tools and tactics and best practices in account management.
  • Excellent knowledge of contract and agreement development, and budget estimation.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and mentorship skills.
  • Excellent decision-making, organizational, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to successfully develop and pitch new partner initiatives with the aim of increasing revenue generation or reputation.
  • Proven ability to manage large, concurrent projects/initiatives with multiple stakeholders and partners.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with executive decision-makers in industry, government, community groups and industry associations.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to negotiate partnership agreements in accordance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and customer relationship management (CRM) applications.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with diverse team members across the organization.
  • Ability to travel locally, regionally, and nationally for client meetings.
