The Opportunity:

J.D. Irving, Limited \xe2\x80\x93 Irving Pulp & Paper Division is currently seeking a motivated individual for the role of Director of Sales, located in Saint John, New Brunswick. In this role, our division is searching for an experienced sales professional to lead our sales strategy and execution across this business unit. The Director will oversee all North American and export sales while effectively managing the team toward the attainment of strategic sales and growth objectives. The role will report directly into the Senior Director of Sales & Marketing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The development of sales targets and strategy to drive attainment of divisional sales goals and objectives
  • Preparation of all sales budgets and forecast, managing overall inventory levels across the business
  • Lead and participate in all sales presentations and customer visits
  • Lead business analytics and reporting to senior leadership team
  • Key team member in developing logistic solutions that drive cost control/reductions across our business
  • Drives results through others, manages team performance
  • Directs sales activities and processes that generate new business and deepen existing relationships while focusing on sales leads, forecasting, and driving revenue growth
  • Gathers and monitors information on competition and market intelligence while communicating timely information to senior leadership and sales managers
  • Willingness for North American travel with occasional international travel required (once or twice per year)
Your Qualifications:
  • Exceptional people and communication skills
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree: MBA considered an asset
  • 10 years of experience with 3 to 5 years in a sales leadership role
  • Proven ability to grow new business and find new revenue sources
  • Excellent leadership and coaching ability
  • Deep understanding of customers and competitors required to drive sales
  • Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to act as a flexible team player and to take a hands-on approach when required by the business
