The Director, Risk & Total Fund Management Technology will lead a team of engineers, analysts and quality engineers providing software development leadership with a specific focus on enabling quantitative portfolio management capabilities.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Risk & Total Fund Management Technology, you will have end to end accountability for all aspects of technology solution implementation working in partnership with the Product Owner.

Role Specific Accountabilities:
  • Provide technical oversight and lead the software development life cycle from analysis, development, to testing, and apply architectural best practices to solve complex problems while driving continuous improvement
  • Partner with the product owner to detail the product roadmap and acts as a driver of \xe2\x80\x9chow\xe2\x80\x9d the business capabilities should be delivered by providing technology architecture solutions and drive implementation.
  • Partner with product owner to translate strategic product priorities and directions into integrated team specific implementation tasks and manage product technical inter-dependencies with other upstream/downstream teams.
  • Lead all technical deliverables; continuously improve upon governance, transparency, and communication on priorities and influence business architecture to identify process improvements.
  • Develop strong partnerships with a variety of different end-users and build a deep understanding of their investment and operational processes to identify opportunities to enhance technology experience of departments.
  • Build, coach and retain a team of talented technology professionals focused on meeting the current and future business needs
  • Manage vendor relationships for both products and external resourcing needs to ensure efficiency and budgetary needs are met while delivering maximum business value.
Qualifications

If you possess the following, we\'d like to hear from you:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or any other quantitative field
  • 8+ years\' experience in technology with experience in software development
  • People leadership experience and strong knowledge of software development best practices including DevOps and Agile delivery
  • Ability to quickly understand the technology needs of various investment strategies and quickly translating complex business needs to technology solutions
  • Ability to build strong relationships, influence and communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders, including business leaders, operational staff and technical engineers
  • Ability to handle changing problems and solve for \'how\' to support of the Enterprise Systems business needs.
  • Adaptable to new technologies and challenges not previously encountered
  • Proven project management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and business users
  • Self-motivated with acute attention to detail
  • Innovative and proactive
  • Knowledge and working experience with Capital Markets technology would be considered an asset
  • CFA designation and/or demonstrated ability to acquire and apply business knowledge when devising technology solutions is an asset
