You will work as a Lead Engineer in Total Fund Management Technology Division, building and evolving end-to-end cloud-native technology solutions for the Total Fund Management business group, with specific focus on enabling quantitative portfolio management capabilities. this role will have an unique opportunity to continue driving a multi-year initiative transforming our technology landscape in the Total Fund Management space in order to support CPP Investments 2025 Technology and Data Strategy. You will see the unique engineering challenges faced by one of the largest global institutional investors and apply cutting-edge technologies to inform very large investment decisions

Through close partnership with investment professionals and operations, you will see firsthand how your software is impacting trade activities and delivering long-term value to the CPP Fund for the benefit of 20 million CPP contributors and beneficiaries.

The Opportunity:

• Design and build robust, resilient and scalable technical solutions by working closely with peer Technology & Data teams and our business partners
• Collaborate with team members to conceptualize, design and develop new software applications in Python, Angular and Java. Applications may be server-side enterprise solutions, GUI, data-driven reporting solutions, or highly customized solutions developed for the specific needs of a business partner.
• Effectively unit test and perform integration testing on software components.
• Prepare and document design and program specifications.
• Drive software delivery through prototyping exercises to solicit early user feedback and discover appropriate solutions
• Manage timelines/deliverables towards the successful delivery of projects.
• Develop the right IT behaviors to enable building scalable solutions within predictable time frames.
• Provide knowledge transfer to team members and support staff through application demos, walkthroughs, and documentation.

Qualifications

If you possess the following, we\'d like to hear from you:

• University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
• Experience in developing cloud-native solutions on AWS preferred
• 5+ years of experience as technology lead driving full stack development including front-end and backend (e.g., Python, Angular, TypeScript/JavaScript, Tableau, SQL, Java) with strong mindsets in DevOps and Agile delivery approach
• Good understanding of business knowledge/interacting with the business, with an eagerness to contribute to the systems that support them
• Strong knowledge of software development best practices and patterns
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and relationship management skills
• Commitment to CPP Investment\' guiding principles of integrity, partnership and high performance
