Position Overview At Building Robotics Inc, we believe in the effectiveness of the combined functions of Scrum Master and Program Management. Our Process Managers are not just agile coaches who lead, train, and advise the organization in its Agile adoption, but also the conductors, the guiding force who work with teams across functions to bring product or project from concept to launch. As the Director of Process and Program Management team, you will direct the implementation, analysis, and optimization of the business operations. You will work closely with engineering teams, helping them and stakeholders understand and enact an empirical approach for complex work. You will oversee the development of the Agile processes, its related policies, coaching teams on Agile methodologies. You will be the impetus, the conduit behind the progression and success of important programs and projects for Engineering. You will use your prioritization skills to guide team conversations about the scope of the work being done adhering to our definition of done. Your strong communication and organizational skills will help keep everyone on the same page and ensure the successful delivery of product goals. Join us in Transforming the Everyday! What will you do?
  • Hire, onboard and manage a distributed team of Agile/Scrum Masters and Program Managers.
  • Use agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver solutions. Train, mentor, and support development teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Lead agile scrum ceremonies, facilitate user story refinement, and manage administrative responsibilities
  • Help with team organization and ensure that teams are kept on track with PI commitments
  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, story estimation, sprint review, and demo
  • Coach team members using Agile Principles to help team mature in agile process
  • Work with product owner to ensure a well-groomed Product Backlog for the teams to ensure long term work visibility is maintained
  • Track sprint status and maintain meticulous records (schedule, capacity, dependencies, issues, risks)
  • Provide support to PMO management for PI planning activities
  • Develop appropriate program management strategies for implementing requirements across a broad range of programs and initiatives
  • Conduct program management activities such as communicating with resource managers, team leads, etc. to track program milestones and keep the focus on delivering program commitments
  • Facilitate the creation of program definitions, work breakdowns, rough order estimates, communication plans and program schedules to determine scope of work for assigned programs
  • Coordinate, resolve, or assist in resolution of conflicts and other issues within and between program teams and recommend/provide solutions
  • Preparing and presenting status reports to stakeholders.
  • Lead cross functional coordination for the development of new technology from design through delivery
  • Work with remote teams to define the logistics to deliver and support software and services in sync with launch timelines
  • Communicate regularly with senior management on status, risks and change control
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that may impair the team's ability to meet strategic, roadmap, financial, and/or technical goals
  • Manage prioritization and trade-offs among customer experience, schedule, performance, and cost
  • Specify requirements for the technological systems and tools required to support the content operations business road map and goals
What will you need to succeed?
  • 5+ years of experience managing technology projects; using Agile methodology.
  • 3+ years of experience working as a Scrum Master with multiple teams
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Jira and Central; collaboration tools including Confluence, SharePoint, and Google docs
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
  • Experience leading one or more Agile scrum team(s) following the defined Agile methodologies
  • Comfortable facilitating discussion and conflict resolution
  • Outstanding, proactive communication skills – written and verbal
  • Proven ability to influence agile habits of team members to increase team performance at a sustainable pace
  • Experience working with remote and global teams
  • Experience organizing effective teams and building necessary collaborations with business stakeholders, operations, and implementation teams
  • Experience facilitating cross team collaboration with the internal teams to fully understand business requirements and desired business outcomes with respect to production issues
  • Proven ability to influence Product Development and Management teams to improve product features and supportability of a product offering by identifying problems and suggesting and/or driving implementation of fixes or features
  • Experience measuring team sprint success by using standard sprint metrics and drive team efficiency and productivity improvement through data points
  • Advanced knowledge of agile team metrics includes burn-down chart, capacity plan, sprint goal mapping, success radiator etc.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
  • MBA (Master of Business Administration) or bachelor/master's degree in computer science or related field
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely across all levels of the organization
  • Analytical thinking, skills in metrics creation and project management, attention to details, and exceptional organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to dive deep into understanding the products, our business, and the technical landscape
  • Experience mentoring junior scrum master/program managers
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with tracked record for delivering results in fast-moving environment
Additional “nice to have” strengths in the following areas:
  • Certified Scrum Master qualification from reputed organization: CSM from Scrum Alliance, SAFe Certified Scrum Master or ACP from PM
