Position Overview

The Provincial Health Contact Centre is a program operated by the Misericordia Health Centre, reporting to the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, with a strategic link to Shared Health Services Manitoba (SHSM) and funded by the Government of Manitoba. The Provincial Health Contact Centre is provincial in scope and its strategic and operational plans shall support this scope.

The Provincial Health Contact Centre (PHCC) is a technologically advanced contact centre capable of helping Manitobans navigating health and social services in the community. If offers an array of clinical and non-clinical services to all Manitobans in both official languages. The PHCC delivers province-wide, real-time, primary health care information through symptom assessment and triage, supporting health promotion, self-care and the provision of health education advice through Health-Links - Info Sant\xc3\xa9. Services are delivered by Misericordia Health Centre (MHC) in collaboration with Centre de Sant\xc3\xa9 Acces-Access Saint-Boniface as a single program, two site model.

The PHCC also provides additional inbound and outbound services such as Home Care After-Hours services, TeleCARE/ TeleSOINS Manitoba, Dial-a-Dietitian, and Manitoba Parent Line Triple P Positive Parenting and Language Access intake.

The PHCC Director reports to the President & CEO of Misericordia Health Centre for day-to-day operational responsibilities. The Director works closely with the PHCC Executive which represents the partners to the Memorandum of Understanding for this provincial service. These partners are Misericordia Health Centre, Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and Manitoba Health, Healthy Living and Seniors and Active Living. The Director collaborates with the Service Advisory Network comprised of various service areas supported by the PHCC.

As a member of the MHC Senior Leadership Team, the incumbent is involved in the strategic planning, decision making and operation of the Misericordia Health Centre.

Experience

  • Three (3) to five (5) years progressively responsible management experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a call centre environment are essential.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Master\'s Degree in health or related field is required.
  • Project Management preparation and experience is an asset
  • An appropriate combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • It is recommended that at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of training.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Demonstrated leadership, administration, effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated skills in relationship and networking.
  • Applied knowledge in budget development and statistics.
  • Special training in the use of Telehealth and related contact centre technologies for adaptation to a wide range of clinical, social services and health education services is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is preferred.
  • Works within MHC\'s core values, philosophy, vision, CQI goals, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to function as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team, including collaboration, team work and good communication skills.
  • Fosters an environment that facilitates teamwork, cooperative, collaborative relationships, innovation, creative change and the delivery of optimal levels of patient care.
  • Assumes responsibility for ongoing education and participates in professional activities for personal and professional growth.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical health to meet the requirements of the position.
This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.
