Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Director of FP&A to support strategic business decisions through financial models, forecasts, business and financial analysis, industry research, and special projects.
You are a trained accounting professional with excellent communication skills and proven leadership, looking to advance your career in a high-growth, entrepreneurial company where change happens on a daily basis. You would have experience working in a multi business unit organization to support the required reporting, analysis and communication. You are detail oriented and enjoy being hands-on. You have proven analytical skills and always understand the "bigger picture". You are effective in building processes, establishing standards and building a high functioning team to drive our strategic objectives.
This role is open to anywhere remote in Canada.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Lead budgeting, forecasting and business planning by coordinating across the business and finance teams within multiple business units and geographies
Lead the preparation and completion of the quarterly MD&A for quarterly filings
Structure and develop a team that aligns with our strategy and corporate requirements
Lead monthly functional department reviews with owners, investigate key variances
Responsible for all board, executive, and corporate reporting and preparation (business KPIs, key ratios, corporate scorecards, etc.)
Prepare and present at Leadership and Board of Directors meetings
Analyze profitability by product/service/customer across the lines of business
Support investment decisions in new features, products, categories, or process improvements
Develop and set target pricing and margins for existing and new products/services through collaborating with the product team
Work with revenue function on deal pricing and sales commissions reviews
Responsible for equity raise initiatives (material preparation, quality of earning audit, cost of capital analysis, due diligence)
Support and lead financial modelling to support investment cases which could include new solutions or acquisitions
Responsible for the integration of acquired companies form an FP&A perspective
Implement process & tool improvements to support growth and scale within the finance department and across all operating units
Ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
Key Skills and Competencies:
MBA or CPA designation
Public company experience in a finance capacity is an asset
8+ years of professional experience including 3+ years in leadership capacity
Expert in Excel required, working knowledge in financial planning tools preferred
Experience in fast-paced, growing organization, preferably in SaaS-based tech
Experience with M&A activities & equity raise is an asset
Strong understanding of accounting principles across the 3 financial statements
Experience in ERP and FP&A solutions is an asset
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dig into an issue or problem with minimal supervision
Outstanding communication skills (both written and verbal)
Highly responsible with a strong sense of ownership and commitment to deadlines
Detail-oriented with high work quality and ethics
Flexible team player - highly adaptable and comfortable with change
Curiosity - this person should not be content with the status quo - this position requires someone who is comfortable in recommending improvements to any and all processes company-wide
