Midland is currently seeking a full-time Director, Operational Excellence for our Head Office in Dieppe, New Brunswick.

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Director, Operational Excellence is responsible leading the OPEX programs across Midland. The primary responsibility of this role is to deploy strategy and systems which ensures the business leaders deliver targeted savings, capability development, and increased utilization through focused long-term plans.

As leader of the OPEX team, the director and respective team members will facilitate the organization\xe2\x80\x99s OPEX strategy, goals, practices, and ensure the annual check and adjust for overall delivery of cost savings. They will also work closely with operations and finance leaders to develop, lead, and support continuous improvement projects, programs, and best practice deployment within the formal Management System.

Who You Are:

• University or College degree with a concentration in Engineering, Operations, or Business
• Certified Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (minimum) or equivalent with a demonstrated understanding of Lean principles (Black Belt or Master Black Belt preferred)
• Minimum of eight years of experience in business operations and/or manufacturing plant leadership
• Experience in Change Management (Prosci\xc2\xae AKDAR experience and/or certification preferred)
• Project and/or program management experience
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to direct and engage team members and influence other executive stakeholders across all levels of leadership and multiple company divisions
• Strong time management, presentation, communication, and organizational skills

What You Will Do:

• Lead the OPEX Program including the goal establishment, tracking, and reporting of full potential savings
• Design and implement plan for Operational Excellence that aligns with the overall business strategy; refresh the plan annually to ensure relevancy and to inform the budget / long range planning process
• Lead overall project pipeline to achieve ongoing cost reduction goals
• Optimize the performance of the Operational Excellence team by embedding best practices, instilling a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking, implementing technical innovation, and improving management systems
• Provide leadership and coaching for team members who are managing continuous improvement projects
• Develop and implement standards and procedures for the use of Operational Excellence tools across the business
• Ensure proper Key Performance Indicators are in place to measure improvement
• Collaborate with other functions seamlessly to drive improvement and efficiencies
• Operate with a high degree of autonomy and professionalism and prioritize workload in accordance with business goals
• Maintain a network of internal and external contacts to regularly benchmark and remain current on future trends and developments related to industry practices
