Description:

Oshki-Giizhig Inc. is an Indigenous-based non-profit organization. Our vision is a healthy community built on Indigenous journeys towards wellness. Our mission is to walk beside, advocate, and support people affected by FASD and or other disorders. Strengthened by cultural practices and traditional teachings, support will assist in restoring balance to individuals and the community affected by trauma and violence. Desired Qualifications:



Strong understanding of Indigenous concepts of care and support.

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, social justice, Indigenous studies, health related and/or a combination of pertinent experiences in these area), A master's degree is preferred.

5+ years of management experience, in a non-profit organization.

Solid knowledge of disabilities, developmental disorders, and mental health issues.

Strong leadership skills, including experience in decision-making, team coordination, and conflict resolution.

Proven ability to deliver person-centred services addressing physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual wellness.

Key Responsibilities

:

Oversee the development, delivery, and evaluation of the organization's three core service programs--Wiigiwaam Housing Supports, Walking Stick Community Supports, and Beaver lodge Day Services--ensuring alignment with Oshki-Giizhig's mission and holistic approach to wellness. Ensure programs promote physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual wellness through culturally grounded, participant-centered supports. Supervise and support program staff, fostering a trauma-informed, culturally safe, and collaborative work environment. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to program managers and staff, fostering a culturally safe, trauma-informed, and collaborative working environment. Build and maintain strong partnerships with Indigenous communities, Elders, service providers, and allies to enhance service delivery and advocacy efforts. Integrate Indigenous knowledge, traditions, and healing practices into service planning and delivery. Track program effectiveness, prepare reports for funders and the Board, and support ongoing evaluation and improvement as directed by the strategic plan. Contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and initiatives that strengthen community wellness. Represent the organization externally and advocate for the rights and needs of individuals living with FASD or other disorders, particularly those affected by trauma and violence. Report to the Executive Director and provide regular updates and reports to the Board of Directors as required.
