DIRECTOR OF PURCHASING

Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Purchasing will lead a team to execute the company’s supply chain process. The successful candidate will have a proven record of supply chain management specifically around purchasing and inventory management along with a strong knowledge of logistics.
Qualifications:

• Education Required: Bachelor's Degree (Business Administration or related field an asset)
• 7 - 10 years of inventory management and/or purchasing experience required
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • Experience with managing in a sales environment would be an asset
• Self-motivated with strong organizational and leadership skills and strict attention to detail
• Ability to set clear goals, manage issues, and escalate when necessary to achieve results
• Desire to work in a dynamic, fast pace environment under tight deadlines
• Ability to gather and analyze data
• Proven experience creating and managing budgets
• Comfortable with various software programs, including MS Office Suite

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead procurement and inventory management for the Purchasing Department
• Working with and managing the Purchasing Team
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with vendors to manage the sourcing initiatives across all divisions to ensure exceptional partnerships, control costs, and drive process improvements
• Participate in the creation of strategic sales initiative
• Set and enforce a budget for the purchasing department
• Develop and implement purchasing policies
• Travel within Canada is required
