As the Director of People, you will be responsible for all aspects of the People function. You will work closely with our leadership team to develop and implement HR strategies that align with our company\'s mission, values, and business objectives. You will also be responsible for building and leading a high-performing People team that can support our company\'s growth and ensure we are attracting and retaining top talent.

Location

We have embraced a distributed model of working to reach the best talent in Canada. While some roles may require proximity to our Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver offices, roles based outside our office locations can be remote in Canada. What you\'ll be doing

  • The Director of People will manage all aspects of the employee experience, including talent attraction and branding, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, and offboarding.
  • Develop and implement employee engagement and retention programs that foster engagement and satisfaction and incentivize top-performing employees to stay with the company.
  • Manage total compensation programs, including overseeing employee stock option grants via ShareWorks.
  • Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, which includes staying up-to-date with any changes in laws and regulations that could affect the company\'s employment practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, People Leaders, and external partners. This includes communicating regularly with employees to ensure their concerns are being addressed and providing guidance and support to managers on People-related matters.
  • Develop and manage department budgets to ensure effective use of resources while meeting the company\'s goals by developing a strong understanding of the company\'s financial objectives and using that knowledge to prioritize People initiatives that support those goals.
  • Develop and implement diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, identifying opportunities for improvement and developing strategies to address any issues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Oversee office management, ensuring that the company\'s facilities are well-maintained and provide a safe and comfortable working environment for employees.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that the office is equipped with the necessary resources to support employees in doing their best work.
To be successful in this role, you\'ll need:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field 7+ years of experience in HR, with at least 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving skillsAbility to think strategically and develop innovative solutions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment
