Director of Marketing
to lead all aspects of the company's marketing efforts across its diverse portfolio, including
Auctions

Private Sales

Financial Services

Valuations

Restoration
. This role is central to enhancing RM Sotheby's brand authority, driving client engagement, and fueling business growth through innovative, content-rich, and highly targeted campaigns.
As a key member of the team, the Director of Marketing will guide a cross-functional team in delivering compelling storytelling, impactful campaigns, and high-conversion strategies across digital, print, media, and event channels. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with deep experience in luxury marketing, exceptional communication skills, and a passion for automotive culture and the collector car market.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and execute comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategies aligned with company objectives and tailored to each business vertical.
Campaign & Content Development:
Lead the ideation, creation, and execution of high-impact marketing campaigns and editorial content that elevates brand awareness, supports sales goals, and reflects RM Sotheby's leadership in the collector car world.
Brand & Creative Direction:
Ensure all marketing materials uphold the brand's tone, voice, and visual standards while continuously evolving its creative direction to remain at the forefront of luxury and automotive culture.
Digital & Print Publishing:
Oversee the production of key publications, including auction catalogs, digital magazines, and special projects, ensuring high-quality editorial and design output that resonates with high-net-worth audiences.
Partnership & Relationship Management:
Build and maintain relationships with external partners, agencies, media outlets, creative collaborators, and potential clients to amplify the brand's reach and reputation.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
Utilize analytics to track the effectiveness of marketing efforts, optimize ROI, and continuously refine strategies for better performance.
Budget Oversight:
Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring smart allocation of resources to meet short- and long-term business goals.
Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing marketing team while fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
Qualifications & Skills:
7+ years of progressive experience in marketing and communications, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally within a luxury, lifestyle, automotive, or auction-related environment
A passion for automotive history, design, and collector culture is a must
Proven success in developing and executing innovative marketing strategies that drive measurable results
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a strong editorial eye and brand sensibility
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; able to inspire and align cross-functional teams and external partners
Adept in managing large-scale projects, multiple deadlines, and complex stakeholder relationships
Strong understanding of digital platforms, SEO, content strategy, paid media, social media, and CRM tools
* Familiarity with print production, editorial processes, and high-end publishing
