Reporting to the Advanced Learning Global Marketing Director, Academic at Taylor & Francis, this maternity cover role is responsible for the development and delivery of the global marketing strategy for our academic customers across international markets, managing key internal and external relationships.

The core academic & library markets offer considerable opportunity for development as we see the teaching and learning market undergo shifts in the way content is consumed and used to support student success. The Advanced Learning division has ambitions to continue to develop, grow and scale its offers & services to core & adjacent academic customers in the Upper-level research teaching space across humanities/social science and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics areas.

We are looking for a candidate who can deliver high impact within this key market, supporting our 3-5-year strategic ambitions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Create, own, and implement the high-level marketing strategy for this important sector which feeds into the overall Teaching & Learning/Research & Reference strategy and business prioritization.
  • A strong strategic and commercial mind-set with solid understanding of the market, its opportunities & challenges.
  • An ability to identify and develop commercial opportunities using key data points, with the ability to develop and link strategic thinking and development with pragmatic delivery.
  • A proven track record of developing and optimizing internal online platforms for customer segments which deliver an exceptional user experience.
  • Able to set the strategic direction, inspire, and mentor members of the Academic marketing team and contribute to career pathways to develop colleagues.
  • Ability to develop a high-performance culture and level of talent for continued capability & skill development across the marketing team, who can plan, test, optimize and scale growth strategies across multiple channels.
Qualifications

What we're looking for:
  • Self-starter with a proven track record in a senior marketing management role.
  • A strong and established background in leading a team.
  • A market expert who can bring business insight and can craft a strategy, establish measurable outcomes, and make things happen.
  • Passionate about customers, their needs, their challenges and can actively listen and turn insight into strategic business development and action.
  • Significant experience and familiarity Upper-level teaching & learning space, along with proven success in driving business growth and market penetration.
  • Knowledge of emerging technology and marketing trends in the Teaching & Learning space.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to create a results-driven, team-oriented environment and can make confident and impactful decisions.
  • Passion, drive, and resilience - able to navigate complexity and ambiguity with a smile.
  • P&L/ Budgeting responsibility.
  • A proven track record of delivering high performance commercial outcomes.
