Director of IT - SMB – Permanent position in Surrey (on-site):
On behalf of our client in Surrey, Ignite Technical Resources is looking for a Director of IT - SMB with our client for a permanent opportunity.
Role Description:
The IT Director, as a member of the Company’s executive management team, will provide vision and leadership to complete current IT objectives and develop and implement ongoing IT initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a manager with proven leadership, communication and technical skills who is excited to be the hands-on leader of a two-person team providing the company with a solid IT strategy and responsive support to all system users.
As the IT director, you should have an excellent technical aptitude, as well as superior project and people management skills. Prior experience working in a senior-level team and strategic planning will be essential to the success of this role.
Responsibilities:

• Organize existing IT priorities and provide a timeline and budget for completion
• Provide hands-on leadership, vision, and governance in all aspects of technology
• Plan, develop, implement and maintain a formal IT strategy to meet the Company’s current and anticipated future technology needs to keep the Company at the forefront of its industry
• Mentor full-time IT staff and third-party vendors to manage all hardware and software components of existing ERP system, Windows Server and MS Exchange environment (currently migrated to Office 365), wireless device management and all related aspects of an Enterprise WAN
• Effectively “own” any IT-related topic through to completion
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating IT projects in line with organizational objectives.
• Identifying vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.
• Preparing financial budgets and performance reports.
• Building and maintaining relationships with external advisors and vendors.
• Ensuring reported issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Provide project maps, budgets and timelines for all current and future IT projects that allow the senior team to engage and support the success of the same
• Create a 1-, 3- and 5-year strategic plan with budgets for the senior team

Requirements:

• IT management in a medium-sized business environment
• 5+ years of experience managing Microsoft OS, ERP systems (WMS, RFID, and e-payments), and enterprise data centers.
• Demonstrated ability to oversee and support software processes, lifecycles, development
• Proven experience with designing, implementing and maintaining physical infrastructure
• Directory, policy, security, and operating system administration skills and proven experience
• Direct involvement with telecommunication, mobile, and wireless device management within an environment of ~40 users
• Transportation experience is preferred
• Strong analytic and organization skills
• Experience managing a team
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset
• Ability to adapt

• Enterprise application integrations and cloud computing
• Internet-based ordering systems and customer portals
• Desktop OS imaging administration
• SharePoint design/usage
• Truckmate knowledge & experience
• Supply chain industry experience
