Apply today!Whitewater's IT department is looking for a Director of Global Information Technology /* *Systems to join us at our Richmond head office. As part of the Senior Management Team, you will be responsible to develop and align the department's vision and goals to the company's broader vision and goals. You will lead all aspects of Information and Technology Management which include planning for IT-enabled business processes, web enablement, investments in infrastructure and reliance on sound data/analysis to lead the business. Specially, you will be responsible for tech needs evaluation, dashboards/metrics, systems development, systems operations & support, communications and change management. You will operate at a strategic level and help the company use global information systems and analytics to achieve its vision of customer focus while taking a pragmatic approach to align information tools, workflow and IT systems across the business. This position requires a strategic leader with excellent leadership and technical skills.YOUR ROLE:

  • Develop and align department strategies and resources within the company's vision and set Information Systems goals and metrics to achieve the company's strategic plan
  • Strategize and enable system consolidation/standardization -from ERP to other business systems- to streamline the business while increasing efficiency
  • Develop, execute, and manage annual budgets for the department utilizing the corporate guidance and sales forecasts
  • Research emerging technologies, analytics and cloud-based data mining to identify, assess and implement new technologies that can be utilized across our global business
  • Provide technical leadership across the organization to support global strategic decision making, project planning, and improvement to our product line's competitive advantage
  • Engage closely with senior management to identify strengths, weaknesses and opportunities of company systems before providing recommendations
  • Drive the standardization of systems across departments and the depreciation of legacy software to reduce technical debt
  • Provide leadership and support to product lines and product development which require built in software and systems components
  • Develop standard Service Level Agreements and ensure service delivery timelines to stakeholders are met
  • Develop governance and utilization of data as a competitive advantage including in the uses of monitoring, control, optimization and autonomy of our technology, systems and products
  • Establish and maintain best practices for information systems to ensure compliance with IT standards, processes, principles, and methodologies
  • Build and maintain a trusted advisor relationship with internal stakeholders, customers and business partners
  • Ensure IT support runs smoothly throughout the company with the appropriate maintenance, replacement and upgrades of hardware and software occurring
  • Proactively manage and mitigate risks related to the security of systems and applications which include a disaster recover/business continuity plan
  • Ensure the current Enterprise Resource Planning system is utilized to its' fullest potential
  • Utilize best practices with respect to web development, custom software development, maintenance, and security; ensure analytics are part of the standard feedback process
  • Define goals for all direct reports and ensure regular performance feedback as part of the performance and goals programs
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

YOU BRING:
  • Minimum 10 years of leadership experience, managing an IT Team in a similar position
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration/Commerce or an equivalent discipline is preferred
  • Demonstrable experience in IT strategy development, project management and change management
  • Experience with product development, launch and support
  • Strong knowledge of business systems, integration and business process reengineering
  • Understand the unique challenges faced by IT systems when dealing with complex engineering 2D and 3D models, CAD, design renderings and collaboration tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure and applications, Enterprise Resource Planning systems, PDM or PLM systems and Atlassian tech stack highly preferred
  • Lead/coach/mentor senior technical staff with a focus on building trust and celebrating diversity
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and experience addressing complex challenges
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
