Lightspeed is on the hunt for a risk and fraud expert to join our team as the Director of Fraud and Risk. Through its suite of products, Lightspeed processes billions in transaction volume, and we are looking for a leader who can drive our Risk strategy. As Lightspeed is a fast-moving, growing organization, we need someone who can jump in and help us scale.

What you\'ll be responsible for:

  • Manage Lightspeed\'s Payments Risk, including Loss, Chargebacks, and Fraud
  • Identify gaps, threats, and opportunities in our processes and products. Develop mitigation strategies, product recommendations and feature enhancements to address weaknesses and improve our systems.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to implement fraud prevention solutions and risk reporting in new and existing
  • Maintain and adapt the policies and procedures to be followed by the Transaction Review and Risk functions
  • Own Lightspeed\'s suite of risk monitoring tools, maintaining existing partnerships, sourcing new external tools, using existing analytics and building internal tooling as necessary
  • Design and implement management reporting to inform management of risk incidents, losses and potential losses. Conduct investigation and post-mortem of incidents as appropriate.
What you\'ll be bringing to the team:
  • 5+ years of experience in a fraud and/or risk management role in merchant payments
  • Deep understanding of the ins and outs of payments processing, you have deep subject matter expertise and understand all aspects of the payments industry and regulations governing it, especially risk management and analytics
  • Ability to design and document risk policies in a dynamic fast paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and interactions with a wide range of levels across the organization
  • Top-notch communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and strong sense of curiosity
  • Sound judgment, strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, assign appropriate resources, ensure quality, professional work and maintain high standards
  • Efficiency and ability to take ownership of results
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel required, knowledge of SQL a plus.
