Job Description

Are you motivated by your Christian faith to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty? Christian Aid exists to create a world where everyone can live a full life, free from poverty. Poverty is an outrage against humanity. It robs people of their dignity and lets injustice thrive. But together we have the power to transform lives. Supported by 41 sponsoring churches in Britain and Ireland, we are part of a global movement of people and organisations who passionately champion dignity, equality, justice, and love. Christian Aid is an international development and humanitarian organisation that works with people of all faiths and none because we believe that everyone is equal in the sight of God. For over 75 years, we have stood in solidarity with our most marginalised global neighbours, to tackle the symptoms and root causes of poverty. Our work in 26 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and Latin America is made possible by donations from the British public, and by our institutional funding partners. We push for an end to hunger, and healthcare for all. We campaign to tackle the climate crisis and support people on the frontline to adapt to its effects. We provide urgent help when disasters strike. We work for a just peace in places of conflict and violence. And we help people living in poverty to secure a decent livelihood so they can live with dignity. We deliver our work in close collaboration with diverse civil society partners and seek to amplify the voices of people living in poverty, and support them to create lasting change. Our global strategy, Standing Together, describes our vision of a world free from poverty and injustice; and we prioritise activities that can deliver all three pillars of our analytical framework: poverty, power, and prophetic voice.
