We are currently partnering with an innovative and growing technology company with global operations that's looking to add a Director of Finance to their leadership team. This organization has built a strong reputation for delivering automation and technology-driven solutions across North America,. The role offers the flexibility of working primarily remote, but the successful candidate will need to be based in Winnipeg for occasional in-person collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all financial operations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation, and cash management.
Provide strategic financial insights to support company growth and operational efficiency.
Partner with senior leadership on business planning, risk management, and decision-making.
Oversee HR functions including workforce planning, compensation, and compliance.
Ensure Canadian and US financial and tax compliance requirements are met.
Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders.
Develop and improve financial processes, controls, and reporting systems.
Requirements:
CPA designation is required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business required; MBA an asset.
10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management capacity.
Strong understanding of both Canadian and US accounting standards (US GAAP) and cross-border reporting.
Prior experience leading a finance function in a privately held or mid-sized company is preferred.
Background in public accounting (Big Four or similar) considered an asset.
Experience managing HR operations and solid knowledge of Canadian and US employment legislation.
Comfortable working in industries such as technology, manufacturing, or professional services.
Proven ability to manage audits, compliance, and internal controls.
Strong systems experience - ideally with ERP/CRM systems.
Excellent analytical and communication skills, with a collaborative and strategic mindset.
