We are seeking a

Director of Finance & Operations

-- an executive-level professional who will oversee financial management, operational performance, and business development through RFP opportunities. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, strategic leader who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-moving environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership



Oversee

accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management

for both companies. Review and assist with

monthly project invoicing

in collaboration with Project Managers. Prepare and analyze

monthly financial statements, forecasts, and performance reports

. Develop and monitor

annual budgets

, ensuring alignment with company goals. Manage

foreman and project bonus calculations

and ensure timely, accurate payment. Serve as the primary

liaison with banks, accountants, and insurance/bonding partners

. Support ownership with

financial strategy, planning, and risk management

initiatives.

Operational Oversight



Meet regularly with

Project Managers

to review project performance, sales targets, and margin achievement. Identify and implement

process improvements

to enhance efficiency and profitability. Support management in

resource planning, cost tracking, and operational reporting

.

Identify and pursue RFP (Request for Proposal) opportunities

across Alberta and BC. Coordinate and

prepare RFP submissions

, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and competitive pricing. Collaborate with estimating and management teams to develop

strong, professional bid packages

. Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Leadership & Culture



Build trust and accountability across office and project teams. Foster a

results-oriented, collaborative culture

focused on financial accuracy and operational excellence. Mentor and support administrative and accounting staff.

Qualifications



Minimum

8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience

, ideally within construction or contracting.

CPA designation

preferred but not required. Strong understanding of

construction accounting, job costing, and project billing

. Demonstrated ability to

analyze financial performance

and implement process improvements. Experience working with

banks and financial institutions

on lending, credit, and project financing. Proficiency in

accounting and project management software

(e.g., QuickBooks, Buildertrend, Sage, or equivalent). Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Familiarity with

RFP/RFQ processes

and proposal preparation is an asset.

Compensation & Benefits



Base Salary:

$120,000 per year

Performance Bonus:
