Director of Cultivation

As one of Ontario\'s leading licensed producers of Cannabis, our team is looking for a Director of Cultivation or Master Grower. Job Title: Director, Cultivation

Supervisor: Head of Operations, or Company designate

Primary Work Location: Brampton, Ontario

Travel: Multi-site Brampton (80%) and Dunnville (20%)

Health Canada Security Clearance Required: Yes

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of growing at 2 cultivation sites, including: selection and development of genetic strains and seeds, cloning, potting and transplanting, designing and maintaining nutrient regiments, feeding plants, defoliation, topping, flushing, IPM, and inventory management.
  • Support in facility operations, including HVAC, lighting, and fertigation/irrigation system control
  • Oversee clone to harvest to precisely project cultivation scheduling needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis in order to meet the company timelines and goals.
  • Manage daily inventory control of plant production in accordance with SOPs ensuring accurate labeling and quality control
  • Establish and manage training programs for all cultivation staff to ensure adherence with establish process and techniques
  • Maintain inventory of raw cultivation related inputs including nutrients, biologicals, and other various inputs.
  • Ability to solve problems and recommend opportunities to improve productivity and efficiencies
  • Other duties deemed essential by management and operating procedures including but not limited to: facility housekeeping, sanitizing of equipment and surfaces, as well as general maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Ensure compliance to Health Canada\'s Cannabis Regulations, GMP all the while following Health and Safety protocols.
  • Regular weekend walk throughs are required on a rotation basis.
  • Other duties as required
Job Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline is preferred, such as: Biology, Chemistry, Plant Sciences, Agronomy, Agriculture, or Environmental Sciences an asset
  • 5+ years\' of professional cultivation experience, including 2+ years\' in a leadership role acting as Master Grower
  • 3+ years\' experience working for a Canadian cannabis licensed producer
  • Experience in collecting and using data to optimize each phase of growth
  • Strong technical aptitude, able to effectively use email (MS Outlook), MS Word, MS Teams, MS Excel, googledocs, googlesheets, HRIS systems
  • Experience with technology and softwares related to greenhouse-management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to write, read and comprehend technical documents, such as SOPs.
  • Must hold a Health Canada Security Clearance in good standing
