Reporting directly to and working closely with the President & CEO, the Director of Corporate Human Resources will be part of the Senior Leadership Team at Major Drilling. As a strategic HR leader, the successful candidate will partner with managers and leaders across the business to understand present and future talent needs, ensuring an adequate focus on global talent management and employee development programs and initiatives that support the company\'s overall business objectives and strategy.By joining Major Drilling, you will be part of an organization that has been an industry leader in the mining sector since its inception in 1980.   • Develop and implement HR strategies that support the company\'s overall business objectives and strategy;
  • Assess the organization\'s structure, capabilities, and culture to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to strengthen the organizational effectiveness;
  • Oversee executive compensation programs, ensuring they align with company performance and governance standards;
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital;
  • Develop and implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction;
  • Lead Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives to promote a diverse and inclusive workplace;
  • Identify leadership development needs and create succession plans for key positions within the organization;
  • Partner with managers to identify critical roles, skills gaps, and future talent needs across the globe;
  • Lead organizational development initiatives to improve company performance and employee experience.
Your Qualifications:As the ideal candidate, you are an innovative, entrepreneurial and strategic human resources leader who has demonstrated experience overseeing and implementing talent management and employee development initiatives that impact a large workforce with diverse needs. Your career in recent years has been more focused on corporate versus operational HR, supporting large employee groups, and pushing the business forward through strategic initiatives that span several HR functions.Qualifications include:
  • 10+ years\' experience in Human Resources including strong leadership experience, ideally at the Director or Executive level;
  • Post-secondary education, preferably with a concentration in Human Resources, or other related discipline with relevant experience will also be considered;
  • CPHR designation would be considered a strong asset;
  • Experience and/or familiarity with Executive Compensation programs within a public company would be considered a strong asset;
  • Demonstrated track record in developing and implementing HR strategies that drive business results;
  • Demonstrated experience using data and metrics to shape and drive HR strategies;
  • Strong and current knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
