Reporting to the Chief of Corporate Development and Procurement, we are seeking a Director of Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) to develop and implement M&A strategies that drive company growth and maximize shareholder value. This role involves managing the entire acquisition process, from target identification to negotiations, due diligence, and deal closure. The Director will also oversee relationships with internal teams and external advisors, ensuring successful integration and clear communication throughout. Strong expertise in M&A strategy and project management is required to meet financial and organizational goals.When your actions lead to success.M&A Strategy and Execution:

  • Strategy Development: Actively contribute to the creation and execution of the company's M&A strategy, managing the acquisition pipeline, conducting valuations, negotiating, and finalizing deals that enhance shareholder value.
  • Deal Leadership: Oversee various stages of deal execution, from identifying and researching potential targets to valuation, negotiation, due diligence, and deal closure.
  • Due Diligence: Lead due diligence efforts, coordinating with internal cross-functional teams, executive leadership, and external advisors to meet deadlines and ensure deals progress smoothly.
  • Presentation and Reporting: Prepare and present acquisition and divestiture proposals to senior management.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain productive relationships with internal teams and external advisors, guiding transactions from inception to completion, including acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships.
Post-Acquisition Integration
  • Integration Strategy: Lead or significantly participate in the integration phase, setting clear milestones, monitoring progress, and offering data-driven recommendations to meet strategic goals.
Corporate Development and Strategic Planning
  • Strategic Input: Engage in the company's strategic planning, contributing to the annual strategic plan.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee the development of financial models and tools to analyze financial performance, organizational effectiveness, and market expansion opportunities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in roles involving corporate development, M&A advisory, or capital markets
  • Ability to synthesize complex information to make informed decisions, with expertise in statistical analysis, financial modeling, and business valuation
  • Excellent project management capabilities, ensuring timely and effective project execution
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent in French and English, both written and spoken, essential (regular interaction with various stakeholders based in Canada and the United States)
