We are currently seeking a Director, Marketing & Studio Operations who can be nice, will seek inspiration from our roots, can commit to achieving results the right way and loves to think big to join us on our journey.

The Director, Marketing & Studio Operations for Roots will be responsible for the following:

Creative Operations & Production:

  • Project intake and studio planning & resourcing
  • Own workflow and scheduling for the execution of creative programs on a project basis based upon volume, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Manage timelines and budget to ensure resource allocations allow projects to stay on-time and on-budget.
  • Operate as workflow intake, initiating the kick-off and allocation of work upon receipt of approved work requests and briefs.
  • Own feasibility and the identification of key milestone dates to ensure approvals and signoffs can be achieved and launch dates can be hit. Adjust timelines and resource allocations as needed and communicate to stakeholders.
  • Liaise with all Creative departments to ensure priorities are clearly established and achieved, meeting deadlines within budget.
  • Inform individual creative and external departments of potential budget and/or scheduling problems. Provide suggested solutions and options.
  • Own all Creative development timelines, including creative, copy, visual merchandising, digital, etc.
  • Partner with Art Director and attend weekly/daily status meetings to ensure appropriate coordination of all projects. Review and update internal status on a weekly basis by publishing status reports.
  • Operate as production lead, managing the Creative Producer, to support on and off-site shoots
  • Manage the Creative Producer
Studio Operations:
  • Manage planning and resourcing of the in-house photography studios to drive feasibility, efficiency, and optimization
  • Manage the scheduling and booking of freelance resources (models, hair & make-up, photographers, and stylists) as needed to execute production needs
  • Lead the negotiation of freelance resource contracts and fees
  • Manage studio flow and usage to drive continuous improvement and efficiency
  • Manage the Production Coordinator and staff eCommerce Photographers
Top candidates for the Director, Marketing & Studio Operations role will have the following:

  • 10+ years experience as a senior Creative Producer
  • Experience managing a high-volume creative or production studio environment
  • Thorough understanding of omni-channel creative channels
  • Dedication to teamwork and team development.
  • Passion for fashion, retail and the outdoors a benefit.
  • A true collaborator who can seamlessly engage with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to lead and influence teams and stakeholders
  • Exceptional time management, project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
