The Director, Marketing Communications is responsible for the planning, developing, and implementing strategic marketing communications and public relations activities. This position actively supports the global marketing function, including activities that cover corporate communications (internal and external), branding, content creation, events, digital marketing, lead generation, and partner marketing.


The Director, Marketing Communications reports to the Vice President Revenue Marketing.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute the FreeBalance marketing and communication strategy and provide oversight of a distributed marketing communications team
  • Develop corporate materials such as sales collateral, product brochures, case studies, white papers, articles, presentations, newsletters, and web/digital content
  • Manage all FreeBalance social channels, including planning, creating, scheduling and posting all content
  • Establish and manage relationships with external consultants, PR firms, graphics designers, corporate communications specialists, and others as required
  • Drive global media relations activities, including relationship building, writing and distributing press releases, creating editorial pitches, and distributing news bulletins, campaigns, etc.
  • Support robust internal communication activities and campaigns by sharing company and customer successes and highlighting team achievements through a variety of tools (newsletters, weekly updates, webinars, etc.)
  • Plan, organize, execute and manage events including tradeshows, customer and partner events, industry events, sales training sessions and other corporate events.
  • Develop, maintain and continuously improve the company website, blogs, and other digital media
  • Develop and execute global Web 2.0, SEO, and SEM strategies
  • Manage integrated communications campaigns to customers, partners, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure consistent and professional use of the FreeBalance brand and standards
  • Define OKRs and KPIs and targets to measure the success of the implemented programs and conduct regular performance reviews


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary/university degree in Communications, Journalism or Marketing
  • Minimum 5-7 years of professional experience in marketing communications
  • Excellent communications and presentations skills
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills
